Haylage

Haylage can be supplied in either 25kg or 40kg bales. Both are easy to handle.

The grass for our haylage is grown in France and Belgium, and is seeded especially for equine nutrition.

Why use haylage? As most horse owners already know, the digestive system of the horse requires adequate fibre to work properly. This was traditionally provided by hay. Hay needs to be of very high quality for horses, otherwise there is a high risk of long-term chronic respiratory problems arising from dust spores in the hay. There is also the added risk that poor quality hay will lack the nutrients that the horse requires. Haylage has a higher moisture content and nutritional value than hay, as well as the added advantage of being dust free.
